AEQ helps provide commentary for IAAF World Championships

KOREA: The recent 2011 IAAF Athletics World Championships, held in Daegu, South Korea, used AEQ’s DCS-10 commentary system in combination with the Spanish manufacturer’s Phoenix Studio IP and ISDN audio codecs. The championships marked the first time that Phoenix Studio had been used for such a major event.
Staged between August 27th and September 4th, the World Championships were hosted at Daegu Stadium with over 1,900 athletes representing 202 participating countries. AEQ reportedly supplied a total of 35 commentary units for up to three commentators and one guest for the various commentary positions within the stadium and at the starting point for races outside of the main venue.
Meanwhile 35 Phoenix Studio multi-format, multi-algorithm dual-channel audio codecs were also supplied. The Phoenix Studio codec offers the user the option of working over ISDN or IP networks among others.
