AKG in-ears praised at Twenty20 cricket opening ceremony

INDIA: A number of AKG’s IVM4500 in ear monitoring systems were relied upon for performances given by artists at the recent 2012 Twenty20 cricket tournament opening ceremony, which was held in the ground of the YMCA College of Physical Education in Nandanam, Chenni, India.
The opening ceremony was broadcast to more than 500 million viewers in 66 countries, and featured performances from Katy Perry and Ravi ‘Drums’ Jakhotia, who played with Africa’s First Project and India’s Colonial Cousins.
Hired by Wizcraft International Entertainment after a string of successful Indian performances in the past, Mr Jakhotia was said to be ‘eager to return to the country for such a large and important event in the sporting world’.
Mr Jakhotia commented that the ‘IVM4500 worked out very well during my performances, especially at such a large and loud ceremony. Its distance was perfect and sounded amazing during the show. The lows were great, the mids were clear and the highs didn’t blast out my ears’.
He added: ‘The IVM4500s are the luxury cars of monitoring, with their great balance, EQ and effects all built in. Usually in-ears are just plug, play and go, but for AKG’s quality to truly shine, I had to make the proper adjustments. After a few minutes with setup, the sound was flawless and the reliability shined through’.
