APN installs ‘future-ready’ Grass Valley solutions

INDIA: Delhi-based broadcaster, Access Press News (APN), has installed a selection of Grass Valley products to help power its 24-hour news channel. The broadcaster’s purchase included six LDX Flex advanced imaging cameras, a K2 Summit media server, EDIUS editing software, a Densité signal management system and a mixed-format routing server. With the entire range of LDX cameras stated to be ‘easily upgradable’, the solution has provided the broadcaster with a configuration that’s effective both in the present and for the future.

‘Managing a 24/7 news channel is a paramount responsibility. When news breaks in the Delhi region, we want to be the first to air it, so it’s crucial for us to have the most up-to-date newsroom technologies in place,’ commented R.S. Chauhan, group head BO&E, APN India. ‘We’ve been a Grass Valley customer for many years, having worked with their LDK range of cameras and we’re always impressed with their knowledge of the industry and customer service, so when the time came to upgrade our cameras, the LDX Flex was the natural choice for us. The LDX Flex gives us stunning image quality at a price that meets our budget.’

‘We’re happy that APN has the best tools in the business to manage their newsroom operations and bring news to their viewers around the clock,’ stated Andrew Thornton, VP of Grass Valley Asia Pacific. ‘The broadcast market in India is a key target market for us, and deals like this further solidify our commitment to the region.’
