Asian Games marks biggest ever HH deployment

KOREA: A huge deployment of nearly 200 HH Electronics speakers – the largest ever for the UK-based manufacturer – provided audio coverage at 69 venues for the recent 2014 Asian Games, held in Incheon, South Korea. SK Telecom was chosen to supply sound and audio for the Games and contracted Sovico for installation, operation and maintenance of the equipment. Sovico was also responsible for supplying and operating the system for the Main Stadium, including the opening and closing ceremonies.

The organising committee specified the need for superior products with high-sound quality at a reasonable price. Sovico took this brief to its sister company and Korean HH distribution partner, Sovico Systems, which in turn recommended the manufacturer’s products for the project.

The manufacturer’s speakers could be heard in a variety of indoor and outdoor venues. These included the Ceremonial Opening Hall, all media, interview and conference rooms, as well as the Archery Field, Tennis Courts, Clay Pigeon Shooting range, MTB Stadium and on multiple holes of the Golf Course. Tessen TMP112A multi-purpose active speakers were selected to cover the main outdoor areas, with Red12A 12-inch cabinets chosen for the indoor areas.

‘I would like to take this opportunity to thank the team at Sovico Systems for the support and hard work to ensure HH was seen by so many people at this very important event,’ commented Ian Wright, international sales manager for HH Electronics. ‘It is by far the biggest event in which HH has played a major part, on such a large scale, and we look forward to the continued growth of the brand as the market learns of our quality and value for money.’
