MALAYSIA: Malaysian cross-media group Astro recently acquired a total of 32 channels of Sennheiser 2000 series wireless microphone systems from Sennheiser Electronic Asia Pte Ltd. The equipment is due to be used on the set of the Malaysian version of MasterChef.
The set of MasterChef Malaysia will use two racks of eight units of EM2050 dual channel receivers, together with 32 beige MKE 1-4-3 clip-on microphones. SK 2000 bodypack transmitters and two AD 3700 directional antennas will also be used when filming.
The integrated Wireless System Manager software will also be used on set for monitoring and remotely controlling the wireless system. Functions such as the RF spectrum analyser and the RF level recorder in the WSM software will show the size of available slots in the frequency spectrum at each filming location, and monitor the field strength of all radio signals present.
‘I am very impressed that we received a proposal with options and technical solutions for this project application three days after our first meeting with Sennheiser,’ said Ramesh Sathasivam Pillay, operation head of sound for Astro’s technical operations.
‘Sennheiser Asia, through its local distributor, Tegas Broadcast & Multimedia, has provided us with a fast turnaround on the product delivery and has been supporting us with experienced technical personnel to guide and advise our engineers during the setup. We hope to continue this good working relationship with the Sennheiser team on a long-term basis,’ he concluded.
