Aten files patent enforcement actions in Beijing

CHINA: Aten International has filed patent enforcement actions in the Beijing Intellectual Property Court against Unisum of Shenzhen and Hardlink of Beijing. The manufacturer is suing both companies for patent infringement of its KVM switches, seeking both a cessation of relevant activity on their part plus compensation.
In an official statement, Aten stated that it has accumulated over 600 worldwide patents, 85 per cent of which have been commoditised, leading to a 55.8 per cent market share as of 2014.
In the same statement, the company declared that it, ‘strongly protests against any act of infringement and plagiarism. Aten International will take proper legal action against anyone or any vendor infringing its intellectual property without official licensing and refusing to make positive response after negotiation, to safeguard its own and proper legal rights and benefits and take active measures to stop vicious competition in trade’.
