WORLD: David Krall has joined the Audinate board of directors, describing the company behind the Dante networking protocol as ‘the darling of the Pro A/V industry’. Audinate CEO Lee Ellison has added that his company is ‘incredibly fortunate’.
Mr Krall is best known in the professional A/V industry as the former president and CEO of Avid Technology, a position he held between 2000 and 2007. More recently he held the post of president and COO of Roku, a manufacturer of streaming media players. Alongside his new role with Audinate, he is also a member of the board of directors of Progress Software, and a board member and executive chairman of QSecure Inc. Mr Krall will reportedly bring specific experience in product development, integrating software and hardware solutions, strategy formation and general management.
‘From what I can see, Audinate has the only well-conceived transition strategy to provide a complete IP networking solution today plus a migration path as standards like AVB evolve,’ Mr Krall commented. Lee Ellison was equally enthusiastic, praising the new board member: ‘David’s depth of experience in helping build companies known for innovation and growth is the ideal complement to our board.’
