Audinate targets Asia with Hong Kong HQ

ASIA: Dante developer Audinate has announced the opening of a Hong Kong office and declared its intention to ‘tap into the fast growing audiovisual industry in Asia’. The office will reportedly provide business development, technical sales and customer support across the greater Asia Pacific area.
Leading the office will be Audinate’s director of sales for Asia Pacific, Ben Wong, who explained the reasoning behind the decision. ‘Asia Pacific is the fastest growing region for the professional A/V industry and Hong Kong is a premier location for multinational companies in the region,’ he said. ‘Together with our growth and rapidly expanding customer base in mainland China, it is logical to open an office in Hong Kong to better meet the sales and support needs within the region.’
‘This expansion reflects Audinate’s success in this important market,’ added David Myers, COO of Audinate. ‘The new office will focus on business development and support activities for customers in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea, as well as the ASEAN countries and Australasia.’
Audinate’s heightened presence in the region is also expected to improve the company’s ability to work closely with its OEM partners, fuelling adoption of Dante.
‘Hong Kong is a major centre for the Asian electronics industry,’ said Charles Ng, associate director-general of investment promotion. ‘With a strong protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, as well as easy access to a complete and effective supply chain in Mainland China, Hong Kong is the ideal location for electronics companies to expand in the region.’
