Audio-Technica sponsors Borneo Jazz and Rainforest festivals

MALAYSIA: Audio-Technica has once again sponsored the Borneo Jazz and Rainforest festivals in east Malaysia. Sarawak-based Echo Sound & Light System supplied the Audio-Technica inventory of microphones for the various acts playing at each event.
‘Audio-Technica sponsors many festivals around the world where we are introduced to artists and engineers with technical enquiries,’ commented Audio-Technica Malaysia market development manager Mr Wai. ‘By attending these festivals, we often end up developing new microphone solutions. The last Borneo Jazz was an unforgettable experience for us, as we introduced several new microphones including the Artist Elite 4000 wireless handheld system including the AEW4120 for vocals, together with the ATM510 and the ATM610a.’
‘The results were stunning, but we have to acknowledge the efforts of monitor engineer Desmond Lee and FOH engineer Niall Macaulay, who is also the technical director for the festivals,’ he added.
‘Echo Sound & Light have some very experienced crew members,’ continued Mr Wai. ‘With their help, not only do we get to test our microphones in some very demanding live situations, but we also get to receive feedback and comments from international engineers and musicians. This is valuable to us, as it helps us better understand our products and allows us to ultimately refine them in some cases. The biggest thrill for me is to see Audio-Technica microphones being used in live situations by happy musicians and engineers.’
