AUSTRALIA: Australis Music Group CEO, Trevor Morrow, and TOA Electronics managing director, Masato Yura, selected Integrate 2016 as the platform to confirm their recent distribution agreement. Having taken on the Lab.gruppen, Lake, Tannoy and Turbosound brands alongside Behringer in 2015, the distributor has now strengthened its portfolio to include TOA Corporation. As such, the Sydney-based distributor’s MI roots have extended further into systems integration that will enable them to compete in new vertical markets.
‘We’ve always admired TOA’s reliable and well-engineered, technical products together with their long-term strategic business plans,’ commented Mr Morrow. ‘Their respected portfolio of mixers, amplifiers, speakers, microphones and other products provide total project solutions in the retail, security, healthcare, transportation and education sectors. We’re looking to add complementary brands to our portfolio and TOA’s renowned solutions are a perfect fit for us.’
TOA’s Mr Yura flew to Sydney for the Integrate show to formalise the agreement. ‘We are very happy to have made this agreement as Australis Music Group has a very clear business plan, especially in transportation projects.’
The Australis booth at Integrate showcased a display highlighting TOA’s new AM-1 microphone specially developed for boardroom and conferencing applications. Alex Trommelmans joins the Australian company from Hills as the product brand manager, ensuring continuity in sales development. ‘Many distributors believe they own a brand, but I do not hold that same philosophy,’ furthered Mr Morrow. ‘We’re merely custodians whereby we need to consistently demonstrate our commitment to the brand we’re representing. With large-scale projects, you have to develop a long-term strategy to providing technical expertise for our customers.’
