AV Staging brings the noise to the ROG Masters eSports tournament

MALAYSIA: AV Staging Sdn Bhd was hired by ESL and Big Machinez to deliver the sound, lighting and visual technology at the first edition of the ROG Masters (Republic of Gamers) Grand eSports tournament in Kuala Lumpur. The tournament spanned two days at the KL Convention Centre, was streamed over the internet and drew a live audience of approximately 4,000 attendees. On the audio side, AV Staging put its inventory of Yamaha, Shure and Nexo products to use, including its roster of Nexo Geo S12 line arrays acquired from Malaysian distributor Concept Audio.
The AV Staging team integrated the sound system employing a Dante protocol and Cat-6 cabling. The rental company’s Geo S12 stock is the largest in Malaysia, and for the eSports tournament, 16 units were deployed. In addition, four PS15R2 speakers and six RS18 subwoofers were implemented with four NXAMP 4x4 digital controllers. Yamaha CL5 and QL5 mixing consoles were setup, as was a pair of Rio3224-D audio I/O interfaces. Distribution was via a Shure ULX-D digital wireless system.
‘I would like to say thank you to Concept Audio, who has given a tremendous technical support and advice on the system,’ said Cedric Chia, managing director of AV Staging. ‘Setting up an audio network via Dante has made things so easy. We are now able to provide top quality sound and spend less time on setting up and troubleshooting.’
