AVE equips OB vans with Ross Video carbonite switcher

AUSTRALIA: Artarmon-based television production house AVE Pty Ltd has recently invested in a Ross Video carbonite 2M-24 multi-definition production switcher for its outside broadcast vans. Specifically, the company purchased the switcher to meet the growing production needs of its sports productions.

‘The carbonite’s 24 input channels and eight configurable outputs allow us to meet the changing needs of our production locations,’ said Peter Bell, AVE owner. ‘The built-in multiviewers have cleaned up a lot of cable mess and carbonite’s internal media stores make adding billboards a breeze. Our clients are very impressed by the additional production power that we can now provide them. Additionally, we’ve added Ross’ XPression real time motion graphics system which complements carbonite, allowing us to offer the graphics ‘look’ that our clients want to achieve.’

‘Now that AVE are adding XPression graphics, they have all of the production capabilities normally found in much larger and expensive systems,’ said Nigel Spratling, business development manager for production switchers at Ross Video. ‘I am confident that AVE’s clients will be very happy with the results.’

‘We knew that Ross switchers were good,’ added Mr Bell. ‘We previously owned a Ross Synergy 1 and it never let us down in our 10 years of use. We still have the redundant power supply in its original box, as we never needed it. We are happy with our experience with Ross and we would recommend the Ross Carbonite switcher to anyone,’ he enthused.
