Avids Pro Tools 10 HDX cards and Stage 48 launched in Singapore

SINGAPORE: In an event organised by Avid Singapore and IMS Mahajak Pro Audio, Avid’s Pro Tools 10, HDX option cards and Stage 48 I/O remote box were recently launched at a seminar at the IMS Mahajak Pro Audio theatre in Singapore. The event was led by Stuart Newman, Avid audio solutions development manager, Asia Pacific, and approximately 160 audio professionals attended the seminar.

‘Every Pro Tools launch in Singapore is a highly anticipated event and this is especially true this year with the launch of Pro Tools 10 and the new HDX cards,’ said Edwin Wijaya, IMS Mahajak Pro Audio.

During the seminar, Pro Tools 10’s new features were explored, as was the Venue Stage 48 AVB-enabled stage box option for the Venue SC48 live console. Mr Newman also discussed the new HDX processing cards and the manufacturer’s latest ISIS 5000 network storage solution.

‘Singapore is a very important place for Pro Tools 10 and HDX to be launched in because of the huge number of Pro Tools users here,’ said Mr Wijaya. ‘Every iteration of Pro Tools has a significant impact on the local audio industry – from institutions, music and post studios, broadcasters to houses of worship – everyone has a great interest in the new features of Pro Tools 10 and the HDX processing cards,’ he asserted.

‘Most audio professionals in Singapore have had or will have to work with Pro Tools software at one point in their career,’ he expanded. ‘Therefore, it was important for IMS Mahajak Pro Audio to hold the event to share the next generation of Pro Tools with local audio professionals, customers and friends.’

Mr Wijaya described the seminar as ‘very successful’, and said that it was ‘a great opportunity for audio professionals to meet-up and gather together to exchange ideas and thoughts about the latest products from Avid. Everyone had high praise for the way that this event was organised, and they were particularly impressed with the professional and informative way that the presentation was carried out.’

‘The event was indeed enlightening,’ agreed attendee Geoffrey Low, senior lecturer, Singapore Polytechnic, School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology. ‘After 10 years of HD and Accel cards, we are at yet another chapter of DSP technology. Avid's ISIS 5000 network storage system is one of the few things on top of my list to look at in the near future,’ he asserted.

IMS Mahajak Pro Audio announced that it plans to schedule further Pro Tools 10-related workshops and master classes in the future.
