Bao Ye Heng works towards Chinese Class-D standard

CHINA: Shenzhen BaoYe Heng Industrial Development Co (Bao Ye Heng) recently organised and hosted the second meeting of the China Audio Industry Association (CAIA) aimed at agreeing on energy efficiency standards for Class-D amplification within China. The meeting took place on May 13th at the Shenzhen Huaqiang Plaza Grand Hotel.

The drive towards a Class-D efficiency standard follows an increasing rise in the popularity of Class D amplification both in Asia generally and on the Chinese mainland, prompting the China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to establish an official project under the title ‘Project No 2010-2628T-SJ’. As a major manufacturer of Class-D products within China under the C-Mark brand, Bao Ye Heng has been pivotal in driving the standardisation process forwards since the initial meeting in late 2010.

During this second gathering, chaired by CAIA secretary general Chen Lixin, Bao Ye Heng’s technical director Wang Haiping read the draft standard paper aloud, after which draft group specialist Dr Zhou Qilin, vice general manager of Bao Ye Heng, added further explanation. In total, the meeting was attended by 21 industrial experts who, Bao Ye Heng reports, reached a ‘basic mutual understanding’.

Further meetings are expected to take place during which the proposed standard will be refined.
