Barix announces Ronni Guggenheim as CEO

WORLD: Zurich-based IP audio and control specialist Barix has appointed Ronni Guggenheim as its new CEO, replacing Johannes G Rietschel in a position he has held since the company was founded in 2001. While Mr Rietschel will remain as executive chairman and CTO, Mr Guggenheim is reportedly planning to make ‘worldwide company growth a priority’ during his tenure, with ‘big plans for the company’.
Described as a ‘seasoned executive’, Mr Guggenheim recently led the merger of Minicom Digital Signage and EnQii to form ComQi. He is also a former managing partner and CEO of neXius AG, where he drove strategy development and execution for hardware and software technology companies.
The new CEO’s experience within the digital signage sector has been described by Barix as an ‘ideal complement’ to its strategy in the retail and business space. He is equally expected to bring a stronger vertical focus to the manufacturer.
Indicating his future plans, Mr Guggenheim commented: ‘Barix has a stellar reputation as an IP technology pioneer and a very solid technology core, the majority of which is hardware-driven. We have an opportunity to increase market share by building a broader ecosystem with a stronger software focus.’
Mr Rietschel added: ‘Barix has achieved excellent growth for 12 years but we have reached a size where we need different entrepreneurial skillsets. I will remain involved in the overall company vision but am getting back to focusing on technology, and ensuring we have the best to offer for our customers. Ronni brings the experience we need to build stronger sales channels and strategic focus worldwide. I will work with him to guarantee greater acceleration of Barix’s success.’
