BCube Group deploys entire DAS inventory for The Drums

SINGAPORE: Having recently acquired 16 DAS Audio Aero-8A line array elements and six LX-215A subwoofers, BCube Group deployed its entire DAS inventory for a performance by indie pop band, The Drums at Singapore’s Scape Warehouse. BCube Group was awarded the contract to provide audio and lighting for what was the band’s third outing in Singapore, debuting its Aero-8A in the process.
The indoor venue has a length of 23m, which suited the Aero-8A’s throw length.
Monitors, drum-fills and front-fills were covered by DAS Audio’s Avant-12A and Avant-15A powered point-source units, respectably.
‘It is really simple to get the line array flown once you have the dimensions of the venue input into the EASE Focus 2 line array prediction software,’ said BCube co-owner, Jason Lim. ‘Thereafter, it is just a matter of physically plugging in the supplied locking pins located on the pin holder on the side of the box, cabling the units and hoisting the system up via lifting towers.’
‘Sound-wise, the mixing engineer was extremely satisfied,’ added BCube co-owner, Christopher Ang. ‘The system was left as it was without any system EQ adjustments; it has clarity that sparkles.’
‘The mixing engineer came in at 5pm and played his tracks, then the band came in at 6pm,’ said BCube Group’s technical supervisor, Saravanan Siva. ‘By 6.30pm, they were ready to rock the 7.30pm show.’
