Beyerdynamic forges new path into India

INDIA: German manufacturer beyerdynamic GmbH has opened a subsidiary office in Bangalore with the intention of catering to the rapidly expanding Indian A/V market.
The microphone and headphone specialist has appointed Naveen Sridhar – a veteran of the pro audio industry with 10 years experience – to the newly created role of sales manager, India. Reporting directly to Asian Pacific sales and marketing director Michael Kinzel, Mr Sridhar will work closely with beyerdynamic’s existing sales partners within the Indian territory while identifying further new business opportunities.
Mr Kinzel has been instrumental in steering the Indian business via a strong network of partners for the past three years, alongside participating in the InfoComm roadshow in February 2010. The manufacturer’s wide product range is divided into five business units – ‘conference’ (conference systems and installation microphones), ‘music & performance’ (microphones and headphones for professional use in theatres and concerts), ‘broadcast, studio, video & production’ (microphones for recording studios, live broadcasting and headphones for professional use), ‘consumer’ (in-ear headphones, hi-fi headphones and gaming headsets) and ‘aviation’ (headsets for amateur pilots).
beyerdynamic has changed its distribution model in China over the past three years by appointing several key distributors in identified vertical markets according to the five business units it operates. It is highly likely that the company will adopt the same principle in India.
