CHINA: Coinciding with Palm China 2012, beyerdynamic held a conference at the nearby Beijing Airport Crowne Plaza Hotel on May 25th. The manufacturer used the event to formally introduce several new products to the Chinese market.
Having recently severed ways with its conference partner Tongbo, the German headphone and microphone manufacturer continues to work closely with its partner Digipower, who distribute consumer and professional audio products. A new partner will be announced as the replacement for Tongbo in due course. In addition, beyerdynamic also announced that it is on the verge of opening offices in Bangalore and Singapore, which will be managed by Naveen Shridhara and Michael Kinzel, respectively, in order to better serve the Indian and south east Asian markets.
Managing director Wolfgang Luckhardt made an opening presentation speech in which he announced an overall sales increase in China of 25 per cent in 2011, attributing this to products such as the DT770 headphones and MCW-D521 conferencing unit. ‘Because of our flexible Kanban production in Heilbronn, and owing to the fact that we have good consistent suppliers, we can always maintain product availability,’ Mr Luckhardt declared. ‘As a result, we have prepared our distribution channels for further growth.’
Following a business overview by Mr Kinzel, Thomas Halbgewachs made a presentation of Quinta, beyerdynamic’s fifth-generation conferencing system. Together with the Synexis C30 wireless tour guide system, the digital wireless Quinta was officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Pro Light & Sound.
The manufacturer took the opportunity to unveil several new products including its re-introduction into the wireless microphone domain with the TG1000. The TG1000 is a 24-bit system with a frequency shifting key (FSK), operating within 470 - 789MHz of the UHF bandwidth, whereby transmitters and receivers communicate digitally. Other features include Chameleon software, which comes with its own web server that communicates with any device and adapts to every operating environment. In addition, beyerdynamic also launched its new Custom 1 Pro headphone series and Headzone software, which will both be available in July.
