Biamp names Chris Fitzsimmons to product management team

WORLD: Chris Fitzsimmons, formerly the editor of UK-based publication InAVate, has been announced as the latest addition to the product management team of Biamp Systems. The appointment has been described by Biamp vice president of marketing Graeme Harrison as ‘a natural step’.
Mr Fitzsimmons, a well respected industry journalist, was editor of InAVate for eight years having participated in the title’s launch in 2005. Prior to this he was an assistant editor for titles including Plant & Control Engineering and Electronics Manufacture and Test, all owned by InAVate publisher IML Group PLC. In his new role as a product manager he will initially be based in the UK, reporting to Graeme Harrison.
Speaking of his change of direction, Mr Fitzsimmons commented: ‘It’s my time at InAVate that has prepared me to pursue my next challenge with a company like Biamp. Working with an industry leader is an opportunity I could not pass up, and represents a further chance to push the boundaries in an industry on the cusp of revolutionary change.’
Mr Harrison further described the appointment as ‘an extension of Biamp's commitment to lead the way in the A/V industry. Chris brings with him significant A/V expertise and connections, and we are excited to have him aboard.’
