WORLD: Dutch engineer and acoustician Bjorn Van Munster has joined the Mediagroup to take over product management for the company’s Vivace acoustic system.
Heralding from Nijmegen in the Netherlands, Mr Van Munster studied architecture and building physics at the University of Eindhoven in which he specialised in room, building, and electro-acoustics.
After graduating as an engineer and attaining a Master of Science (MSc) in 2003, he worked for several acoustic specialists in the Netherlands developing projects in Europe, Asia and the US. In 2008 he founded his own consultancy named Sensus Acoustics & Architecture.
‘Vivace convinced me immediately,’ commented Mr Van Munster. ‘I first learned about it during two independent projects I was involved with for Sensus and the Mediagroup. In my opinion it is based on the world’s best digital routing system and opens up previously unknown possibilities. It is not only suitable for acoustic enhancement but it can also create a variety of 3D sound effects and control during performances. This diversity is what makes Vivace so interesting,’ he concluded.
