BJP secures victory with support from K-Array

INDIA: When India descended on the polling booths back in May, the soon to be elected Narendra Modi of the Bharatiya Janata Party placed a heavy emphasis on engaging with the country’s 23 million first-time voters. One element of this initiative saw the party engaging with young voters online, through social media. However, he also introduced technological elements into the more traditional campaign approach. Installed by Modern Stage Service, his campaign fleet was lavishly decorated with the necessary equipment, which included projectors, microphones, and speakers. Having now proven itself as a viable portable solution, the installers exhibited one of the trailers recently at InfoComm India, reportedly sparking a great deal of interest from visitors.

Mr Modi’s electoral campaign began with a variety of holographic presentations and speeches taking place throughout the country. To support these displays, K-Array’s compact KR402 column arrays provided sound reinforcement for all of the speeches.

The installer behind the project, a strict, family-run business now in its third generation, has come a long way since its beginnings, maintaining the electrical system of a theatre, and has now grown to distribute a total of 22 international brands.

‘Our main business is related to events and concerts, but in the last five years we have also designed and installed systems within corporate environments, and we have completed more than 1,000 auditoriums all over the country,’ explained Pratik Wadhwa of Modern Stage Service. ‘I really like K-Array. It has a great appeal to our customers thanks to the unique design. It’s compact, fashionable and so elegant, which suits our broadcasting installations perfectly.

‘This Italian company we met four years ago at Pro Light and Sound in Frankfurt has made a huge impact for us,’ he continued. ‘Of course in India it is not easy to propose foreign brands, because of the cost basis plus high import taxes, but in many cases private clients appreciate the difference. The new Prime Minister has promised to expand the Indian infrastructure and we expect that in the coming years there will be plenty of exciting installations and events for new auditoria, offices and museums.’
