Black Hole studio equipped with Electro-Voice

JAPAN: EVI Audio Japan Ltd recently installed an Electro-Voice sound reinforcement system into the Black Hole recording studio in Toshima.
The concept of the studio is to ‘provide a haven for musicians who need a place with good acoustics’. As such, the audio had to be of a high standard, and the client stipulated that even when music is set at a high volume, ‘the sound must not be distorted or unclear so as to facilitate efficiency during practices’.
Cost was also an important factor for the end-user, and the client also stated that he hoped that the speaker solution would provide ‘the best sound for the most affordable price, as the studio itself provides very affordable rates for musicians to encourage them to practice more’.
EVI Audio Japan installed 14 Electro-Voice ELX115 speakers with an additional two ZX3-90 speakers in each of the four studio rooms. Electro-Voice PL80a microphones were also installed, as were a number of Dynacord CMS1000-3 mixing systems and EV Q99 amplifiers.
Benefits of the new sound solution are said to include an ‘exceptional sound quality and power even when the speakers are put on high volume,’ said an Electro-Voice spokesperson. ‘Also, the speakers were very affordable and the end-user gained a lot of help from staff members from EVI Audio Japan – guiding them on how to use the speakers and on how to maintain them, which the studio owner really appreciated.’
‘I love the power and quality of the speakers, Bosch has exceeded my expectations,’ enthused Nobuaki Miyauchi, owner of Black Hole studio.
