Bosch attracts 300 delegates to Product Introduction Days in China

CHINA: An impressive 300 dealers, customers and consultants hailing from countries across the Asia Pacific visited Xiamen, China in March for Bosch Communication’s Product Introduction Days, a two-day event comprising a gala dinner and a day of special presentations focusing on Bosch brands.

Attracting delegates from territories including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, the gala dinner was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Le Meridian hotel.

It began with a welcome address by Koen Rommel, vice president of sales for Bosch Security China, and continued with speeches by Robert Mulatz, Bosch Communications Systems senior vice president, and Johannes Huth, director of product marketing for communications systems Asia Pacific. Other speakers included Woo Khiang Tan, senior manager after sales Asia Pacific region, Tommy Kim from Kevic Inc, and Zhou Fang Hong of Guangzhou’s Talent Audio Engineering Consultants Co Ltd. Additionally, 31 of Bosch’s partners in the region were awarded Business Excellence and Leadership Awards.

The following day, a series of product-specific presentations took place at the Xiamen International Convention Centre (XICC), concentrating on markets including fixed installation, mobile installation and commercial sound.

Among the products discussed was the Electro-Voice Innovation Series, presented by EV global product manager Guillermo Wabi, alongside EVH models including the EVH-1152S and EVH-1152D. EV’s global product manager for signal processing Ethan Wetzell also outlined the principles of audio networking with Dante and NetMax. Dave Egenberger, senior product manager for EV wireless microphones introduced the RE320, which is targeted for use in studios or on stage. Finally, Dynacord’s Corus Evolution two-way full-range loudspeakers and subwoofers were highlighted alongside the PowerMate3 and CMS3 consoles by business line manager Martin Traut, while Henk Goudsmits hosted a special session on Bosch public address systems including the Vari-directional Array and Plena PA/VA system.

The star of the day however was Electro-Voice’s Live X range of loudspeakers, which was introduced at the beginning of the year at NAMM 2011. Global product manager Aaron Chisena took delegates through the series, which covers both passive and powered models.

‘The response we have received here for the Live-X has been tremendous. It will be a game changer,’ declared Johannes Huth. ‘EV is also upping the ante with Live X by supporting it with videos, merchandising, micro-sites, social networking, and an eye-catching packaging design for retail window displays.’
