Bosch gives Hog’s Bar staff full control

SINGAPORE: Located along Joo Chiat Road in Singapore, Hog’s Bar is a casual bar and diner with a strong reputation among biker groups. Besides its ever-expanding menu, one of venue’s main draws is its entertainment line-up, which includes both live band performances and live sports entertainment, such as NBA games and the Super Bowl. To cater to this, TNT Audio Visual Pte Ltd installed a sound system comprising Bosch and Electro-Voice products to cover both the indoor and outdoor areas.

Sitting at the heart of the new system is a Bosch Plena 8-channel DSP Matrix, which provides complete control of the audio configuration and signal processing. Split up into four separate zones, users can mix and select inputs whilst controlling output levels.

Plena panel controllers were also installed into each zone providing operators with control of volume and source selection. This enables each zone running audio sources and content from cable TV, video streaming, laptops, and wireless microphones to be managed via an iPad or wall-mounted controller.

For the outside area, the TNT team installed weather-resistant Electro-Voice EVID 4.2 surface-mounted speakers, chosen because of their ‘streamlined aesthetics and outstanding audio quality for their size’. The cabinets are powered by an Electro-Voice Q44 amplifier that also interfaces with the manufacturer’s R300-HD microphone systems to support live performances and sports commentary.

The new system has reportedly brought new life to Hog’s Bar, providing staff with fully-controllable audio infrastructure throughout the venue.
