Buddhist internet radio channels use Digigram AoIP codecs

KOREA: Seoul’s Buddhist Television Network (BTN) has opened four new web-based radio channels using Iqoya *Link/LE audio-over-IP codecs from French manufacturer Digigram. The four codecs were supplied by systems integrator Digicom, and represent the first deployment of Iqoya systems in Korea to support web radio services.
The new channels are intended to complement BTN’s existing line-up of cable, satellite, and IPTV channel offerings. While the Iqoya *Link/LE codecs handle encoding and streaming for the channels, an additional four VX442e multichannel soundcards, also from Digigram, are deployed for audio playback.
‘In extending our programming onto an internet-based platform, we required a solution that could promise unparalleled uptime, as well as the simplicity and stability necessary to ensure minimal maintenance,’ commented Ho-Sung Lee, senior director at BTN. ‘Working with Digicom, we determined that the Digigram Iqoya line best met these requirements while also providing broadcast-quality audio and impressively low delay.’
Nancy Diaz Curiel, APAC sales manager at Digigram, added, ‘Web radio services offer broadcasters a great option for increasing their audiences, and it is a perfect application for our IP audio codecs. We are proud that BTN recognised the reliability of Iqoya *Link/LE products and chose to build its new web radio service on these proven Digigram codecs.’
