Caged win fourth Be Electro-Voiced contest

ASIA: Nepalese Band Caged have been selected as the fourth winner of the ‘Be Electro-Voiced’ contest for the period of January to February 2013.

Members Ryan Ale, Chandan Moya Shrestha and Anuj Shrestha formed the band in late 2011. They have since played together in many session gigs, featuring several artists such as Ciney Gurung and Naren Limbu. Having already released the EPs: Mayako and Nirdoss, Caged are now working on their first album with Gesuras Productions and Camerilla Productions.

Ryan is the vocalist and guitarist, and has spent more than seven years in the music industry as a session artist. He is also a composer, arranger and a vocal instructor at the Caged Music Institute and Glacier Higher Secondary School.

Chandan plays the electric guitar and keyboard in the band, and is a guitar instructor at many schools and private institutes. Having spent more than seven years in the music industry, he has worked with a variety of different bands and mainstream artists as a guitarist and keyboardist.

Anuj plays the drums and percussion instruments, and has been actively engaged in the music industry since 2006. He has been performing in hotels and pubs as a professional musician for many years and during that time has collaborated with local mainstream bands and artists.

Electro-Voice has announced that it continues to search for more singers or bands to showcase their performances, to be judged by an Electro-Voice panel of judges on Facebook. Contestants are required to upload a short video of their performances onto the Facebook page.

The winners are announced once every two months, and will be endorsed by the brand and receive a professional Electro-Voice microphone. They will also stand a chance to win the grand prize of an Electro-Voice loudspeaker system.
