Calrec Audio expands presence in Asia-Pacific region by appointing product specialist

SINGAPORE: Calrec Audio has announced that it is working towards increasing its presence in the Asia/Pacific region by expanding its Singaporean-based office with the appointment of Ace Yip to the position of product specialist Asia Pacific.

Calrec's Asian office is run by Graham Murray, who attributes the company's expanding sales figures in the region to having a local office ‘in the right time zone’ for business in the region.

‘We've had an increase of more than 250 per cent in annual sales turnover in this region since opening the office in Singapore,’ stated Mr Murray. ‘We now have 12 Apollo desks in Japan, including our first Apollo at NHK, and recently 12 Omega consoles have been sold to South Korea.

‘It's all about our customers here feeling that we're committed to this region. We have a dedicated demo room in Singapore where we run seminars and product training, and we've found that this can be very useful to our distributors in the region when they're pitching to potential clients. The addition of Ace Yip to our staff will strengthen that commitment to our regional customers,’ he explained.

Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, Mr Yip has previously worked at MediaCorp. Since joining Calrec Audio, Mr Yip has begun handling product demonstrations and presentations at the Singapore office.

‘It's a pleasure to join the Calrec Audio team,’ said Mr Yip. ‘I hope to add to the great work Graham has achieved over the past couple of years.’
