CEDAR Audio grants licence to Sonic Studio

WORLD: UK-based audio restoration specialist CEDAR Audio has entered into a non-exclusive licence agreement with California’s Sonic Studio, allowing the US restoration software developer to use IPR contained within CEDAR’s US Patent No 7,978,862, Method and Apparatus For Audio Signal Processing.
According to a joint statement from the two companies, the patent refers to a method of displaying and editing audio content in a spectrogram interface, as utilised in Sonic Studio’s proprietary audio restoration technology. The resulting information can provide engineers with a means to find problems such a noise and other artefacts in recordings and remove them without affecting the surrounding audio.
