CEO appointment marks shift in d&b audiotechnik leadership

WORLD: Amnon Harman has been named as the new CEO of German loudspeaker manufacturer d&b audiotechnik. The appointment sees Mr Harman fill a newly created role, joining fellow management board members Markus Strohmeier, responsible for technology and operations, and Gerhard Mayr, responsible for global sales. The company’s director of finance, Kay Lange, will continue as a member of the broader management team along with a new director of marketing who is set to join the company in August.
Described by the company as a ‘comprehensive strengthening of the management team’, the changes are intended to help d&b ‘accelerate its internationalisation strategy’ whilst bolstering its position in the market and building its share of the installation sector.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Harman worked as an independent consultant, while from 2006 to 2012 he served as chairman of the management board of Augusta Technologie AG, a technology company focused on niche markets for optical sensor technology and digital image processing. His earlier roles included serving on the management board and as COO of Suse Linux AG (later becoming vice president and COO for EMEA following the company’s sale). He holds degrees in industrial engineering and aeronautical engineering from Munich University of Applied Sciences.
