AUSTRALIA: TEAC Corporation has announced that as of August 1st 2011 the Australian distributorship of TASCAM will move to Melbourne-based CMI Music & Audio. The deal is described by the Japanese manufacturer as following extensive conversations between the two companies and TASCAM’s previous Australian representative, Electric Factory PTY.
In an announcement titled ‘a new future for TASCAM in Australia’, the transition between Electric Factory and CMI Music & Audio is being described as ‘seamless’, with both suppliers working closely to ensure a simple handover.
Following the announcement, CMI Music & Audio co-director and CEO Peter Trojkovic explained that TASCAM is ‘a natural fit with our plans to further expand into the pro audio segment of the market. We're glad to be able to work with TASCAM and Electric Factory to achieve a smooth transition.’
In response, Ray Kimber of Electric Factory praised the new distributor: ‘We're delighted to see TASCAM and CMI come together. The change will be good for the brand and our friends at CMI.’
