CMI to distribute AKG’s full catalogue in Australia

AUSTRALIA: AKG has appointed CMI Music & Audio as its new distributor in Australia. CMI has more than 30 years of experience serving as the distributor for AKG’s fellow Harman brand Digitech, as well as looking after Duran Audio, which Harman acquired in 2013.
AKG had been distributed by the same company in Australia for several decades. The move comes now following a recent restructure at Harman, in which a new distribution arrangement was required to fit in with the organisation’s long term business strategy.
‘With its three divisions: musical instruments, music technology and pro audio covering the retail, recording, broadcast, installation and consumer markets, CMI was the clear choice.’ explained Rodney Houston, regional sales director, Asia at Harman Professional Solutions.
‘We are honoured to be chosen to represent AKG microphones and headphones for the Australian market,’ enthused CMI’s CEO and director, Peter Trojkovic. ‘We have always admired AKG as one of the world’s leading microphone and headphones brands and look forward to an exciting time in growing the brand in the Australian market.’
