WORLD: Rod Falconer has been appointed to the position of director of technical training and education for Community Professional Loudspeakers, whilst Rich Bellando has been announced as the company’s strategic development manager.
The company described Mr Falconer as ‘an industry veteran’, and said that his new role is ‘a natural extension of his prior experience’. The new role will see Mr Falconer assume responsibility for developing and delivering programmes whilst providing training support materials for Community customers and dealers worldwide. Additional duties will include managing the company's field training efforts, developing curriculum in order to enhance the technical skills and product knowledge base of Community users, and focusing on the appropriate application of the brand’s products and design tools.
Mr Falconer first joined Community in 2007 as a regional manager for western US and Canada, and throughout his career he has accumulated over 30 years of experience in the industry. This includes working with networked control systems and systems design for small churches, performing arts facilities, airports and an array of other large-area notification systems. He is also experienced with all types of loudspeaker systems, and has a strong background in array physics in theory and practice.
‘Technical training is increasingly important in today's sophisticated contracting business,’ stated Julia Lee, Community's director of sales and marketing. ‘Rod has effectively taught numerous sessions on understanding and selecting the appropriate technology for given applications.’
‘Rod is the ideal person to take on this challenge and be an effective resource for our customers,’ added Dave Howden, Community's director of technical services. ‘We're very glad to have him on our team.’
‘I really enjoy helping people understand the tools that are available to them as designers – getting past the rhetoric and marketing hype to really comprehend what's appropriate for a given situation,’ said Mr Falconer.

Meanwhile, Mr Bellando’s new role will see him assume responsibility for the implementation of special projects focused on expanding OEM markets, whilst addressing the needs of contractors and end users worldwide.
A graduate of Syn-Aud-Con and Northeastern University, Mr Bellando joined Community in 2005 as an inside sales associate. He was later promoted to the role of senior sales administrator, where he provided customer support to Community's dealer and distributor network.
‘Community's commitment to our customers has allowed me to enjoy many lasting relationships within this ever changing industry,’ said Mr Bellando. ‘Working with a team of talented people is a great advantage and a powerful tool. I look forward to the challenges and continuing growth in this new position.’
‘Rich has been an outstanding member of our team for many years,’ said Ms Lee. ‘He brings a wide range of multifaceted talents and experience that will make him highly effective in this versatile new position, along with his strong relationships with our reps and dealers. All of us at Community are confident that Rich will be overwhelmingly successful in this new role.’
