Community helps Hotel Kunlun rock

CHINA: Beijing’s Hotel Kunlun’s ‘Rock’ bar has benefitted from a new sound reinforcement system. Keeping the bar’s ‘unique’ aesthetics in mind, the system chosen comprised Entasys line array column loudspeakers from Community, a Powersoft digital amplifier and an Allen & Heath mixer.
The bar’s FOH system comprises two Community Entasys-FR full frequency line array column loudspeakers and two Entasys low and mid frequency line array column speakers, hung either side of the stage. The bar also features four Community Veris 212S low frequency subwoofers. A Powersoft Q4004 amplifier drives the system.
Allen & Heath products comprise a GL2600 mixing console for bands, whilst a Xone 62 mixer has been installed for DJs performing in the bar. A Symetrix Express 8X8 Cobra DSP provides signal processing.
Musicians and DJs were said to be ‘astonished’ with the quality of the sound system, and were reportedly particularly impressed with the compact system’s volume range. Hotel Kunlun’s ‘Rock bar’ was designed and invested in by writer Hai Yang.
