SINGAPORE: Consolidated Audio Networks (CAN) recently provided the audio design for Mansion Bay, a new 1,200 capacity club located at the Esplanade Mall area in Singapore. A total of 34 speakers were used to cover the numerous zones of the venue.
The main dance floor was covered with four Turbosound TCX-15 passive two-way loudspeakers on each side with an additional TCX-15 for down-firing in the centre from the flown truss system. Bass-reinforcement was provided by four TCS-B218 dual 18-inch subwoofers, which are powered by an MC2 Audio E90.
‘The amplifier is one of the few choices available in the market that could provide enough output power with headroom to the subwoofers at 2-Ohm 8,200W per channel, day in and day out,’ said Consolidated Audio Networks’ Jesmin Kaur.
Providing further coverage are total of eight TCX-12 passive two-way loudspeakers supported by four TCX-18B subwoofers, in addition to two Impact 55T compact passive two-way speakers.
‘The venue is fused by three concepts that will leave party goers, night owls and business associates spoilt for choice,’ said Ms Kaur. ‘Within a single location, customers can choose the alfresco M Bar, or can join the party crowd in the massive Mansion dance club. If they are looking for a place to enjoy the music and converse with friends or business associates, then Madison Lounge which is situated on the second level of the venue is ideal.’
To fulfil the zoning and processing requirement, Consolidated Audio Networks utilised Dante, and designed and programmed a 12 input, 20 output processing system. This allows audio from multiple zones to be routed as required while allowing various zones in the club to have independent volume control via smart phones or any HTML compliant web browser.
‘Due to the quality and flexibility of the sound system, the club is able to bring the overall club experience to a higher level,’ added Ms Kaur. ‘It has served its purpose and is in sync with the club’s music direction.’
