CSA equips BATS bar with Harman solution

INDONESIA: PT Cipta Swara Anugrah (CSA) recently supplied and installed a compete Harman audio system for the Bar At The Shangri-La club and restaurant (nicknamed BATS) in Jakarta.
The venue is divided into two sections, and often hosts live performances, and needed a complete system for the bar’s exact requirements. For the main FOH system, four JBL VRX932LA-1 passive line array PA speakers and three SRX728S passive subs were selected, powered by amplifiers from Crown. A BSS FDS 366 T omnidrive compact plus speaker management system was also implemented for FOH.
Eight JBL PRX615M speakers and two PRX618s subwoofers were chosen as stage monitors, whilst a further four PRX615Ms powered by Crown amplifiers were selected as delays for the restaurant and bar areas.
For the ‘top’ bar, two PRX615M speakers were installed along with a DBX 1231V-EU equaliser, mixed by a Soundcraft EFX8 desk. Meanwhile, four JBL Control 25AV speakers and Crown amps have been placed in the toilet and corridor areas.
Processing for the FOH booth is courtesy of a Soundcraft Si1 console, a DBX 1260M-EU 12 x 6 zone processor, a 260V-EU 2 x 6 loudspeaker management system, a ZC-fire system interface, and two ZC1V-EU programmable volume control zone controllers.
For microphones, five AKG D40 instrument mics were selected, as was one C 1000 S, six D7 vocal mics, and various wireless systems complete with receivers and condenser capsules.
‘The equipment was selected based on the acoustics, budget considerations and the quality of Harman’s products,’ said CSA project manager Amir Santoso. ‘The system answered the client’s requirement for lounge music, live music, DJs – with a high SPL requirement,’ he explained.
‘We had to figure out how to provide suitable equipment taking into account the existing acoustic condition of the room,’ said Mr Santoso. ‘Also, we had to work out how we could meet the client’s budget and yet provide a superior system when compared with the previous one. Also, the club had to be fully operational and we could only complete the installation between the hours of 3am and 4pm each day!’
However, Mr Santoso declared that despite the challenges, the client is ‘very happy, because the entire audio system performance has improved a great deal, and the club seems to be more packed now. Visitors, bands and the bar’s management are all excited by the audio system’s performance – especially after the implementation of our BSS system,’ he concluded.
