INDONESIA: A d&b audiotechnik sound reinforcement system was recently used for front of house at a Jakarta concert by dance music pioneer Norman Cook, better known as Fat Boy Slim. The system was supplied by local hire firm Peplus Audio.

The concert took place at the Central Park Ballroom in the west of Jakarta, reportedly drawing more than 4,000 spectators who saw the DJ perform as part of a tour of Asia. The event’s production manager, Mr Ecang, appointed Peplus Audio as the equipment supplier, while Mr Cristian, Mr Anil, and Mr Agung from d&b audiotechnik’s recently appointed new sales partner A&T Solutions also lent support.

A total of 18 Q1 enclosures were used for the main left and right hangs plus two Q7 speakers used for down-fill, and two C7-Tops for centre-fill. Low-end was via four B2-Subs and 18 Qi-Subs. A total of 16 dual channel D12 amplifiers were used to drive the system.

Alongside the d&b system, Peplus Audio also supplied two Avid Venue SC48 consoles for front of house and monitor mixing. On-stage sound was delivered via four Electro-Voice QRx 112 enclosures driven by two P3000 amplifiers, with an EV DX 38 loudspeaker processor.
