d&b’s V-Series unveiled at Republic Poly’s Ignite! festival

SINGAPORE: Republic Polytechnic’s annual Ignite! music festival recently hosted a sneak preview of d&b audiotechnik’s new V-Series for invited guests from South East Asia.
Education team leader Kenny Chng and assistant technical support Mr Mohd Sofian gave the guests a brief introduction to d&b’s System Reality concept as well as the d&b line array family. While the presentation went on indoors, technical teams from the Production People and The Republic Cultural Centre set up the front of house system for the festival on the polytechnic’s outdoor lawn.
The setup crew quickly put in place six V8 loudspeakers and two V12 loudspeakers per side based on ArrayCalc predictions. Low frequency was handled by eight V subwoofers and two J Infra subs.
The presentation ended with a private listening session for all guests in a real-life mid-size concert setup, where the V-Series was said to have ‘coped admirably’ with the challenges thrown up by the wet weather conditions. For the next two days of the festival, the system was used for a variety of band performances, mixed by the TRCC crew.
