DAS Audio celebrates Vietnam successes

VIETNAM: Loudspeaker brand DAS Audio has recently seen its systems deployed into two high profile applications within Vietnam, including a fixed installation within the Hanoi College of Art, and a major live event.
Hanoi-based DAS distributor Hoang Huy Co Ltd supplied a new front of house sound reinforcement system for the 200-capacity theatre within the Hanoi College of Art, with technical representative Tran Nhu Noi managing the installation. A total of 12 DAS Aero 12A line array elements were deployed into the theatre, flown six per side, while four DAS LX-218A sub bass enclosures were ground-stacked two per-side in a left-right configuration to provide low end. A DAS DSP-2060 processor was also supplied for loudspeaker management.
‘As this is a multi-purpose venue that caters to a wide variety of performances— from rock bands to theatre productions—we required a system that was able to accommodate high SPL levels,’ explained Mr Nhu Noi. ‘But all the while we had to bear in mind that this is an art school where students will be the system operators. A robust system like the Aero 12A satisfies these requirements and, given the space constraints we have, this system deliver the SPLs we were seeking, without being visually distracting.’
Elsewhere in Hanoi, DAS enclosures provided reinforcement for a live event, with Hoang Huy Co Ltd working alongside Nguyen Khai Rental Company, who recently acquired its first Aero system.
For the event, 12 Aero 12A line array elements flown six per-side were deployed for FOH, augmented by six Aero 218 Sub enclosures which were ground-stacked three per-side. Driving the subs were the manufacturer’s SLA-4000 stereo power amplifiers while loudspeaker management was again via a DSP-2060 processor.
