David Krall named Audinate chairman of the board

WORLD: David Krall has been elected chairman of the board for Audinate Pty Ltd, the company behind the Dante networking protocol. Mr Krall initially joined the board earlier this year having worked in the technology sector for more than two decades.

According to the company, Mr Krall’s elevation to chairman comes at a time of growth for Audinate, as the completion of its most recent fiscal year in June represented almost doubled revenues.

Lee Ellison, the company’s president and CEO, described Mr Krall as possessing a ‘diverse background in developing companies who are in the start-up’s high-growth phase, as well as large publically traded companies’, adding that this experience will ‘be a major benefit for Audinate moving forward’.

Prior to his association with Audinate, Mr Krall was perhaps best known within the A/V industry as the former CEO of Avid Technology. He also currently serves as a strategic advisor to Universal Audio alongside other companies.

‘What first attracted me to Audinate was their advanced technology offering, allowing customers to send audio and video signals synchronously across standard IT networks,’ Mr Krall explained. ‘But what has impressed me most since joining the board has been the strength of the team behind this offering. Audinate definitely can compete at any weight class, and I think they have a tremendous opportunity to make a big contribution to this industry.’

Mr Krall also currently serves as executive chair of QSecure in addition to serving on the board of directors of Progress Software.
