dB Technologies highlights DVA T12 at distributor convention

WORLD: Italian audio manufacturer dB Technolgies hosted its fifth annual 'Prosonic' distributor convention at its Cologne headquarters prior to the Plasa exhibition. The main focus of the two-day forum was the DVA (digital vertical array) T12 speaker system, but it also highlighted the work of its distributors with the annual awards.
The 2011 Prosonic was dedicated to all aspects of understanding, setting up and selling the new line array module to professional rental and installation customers. ‘The T12 is the impressive result of three years’ intensive R&D, and we wanted to give our distributors as much product knowledge and marketing support as we could to justify and validate the efforts that have gone into its design,’ commented MD of dB Technologies Germany, Michael Herweg.
Visitors to Prosonic were pleased with what they saw. Trausti Ingólfssson from Icelandic distributor, Tonabudin commented: ‘It has been great to learn about how T4 and T12 are compatible, whilst finding out the ideal configurations of the two line arrays. Together with the S30 subwoofers it makes for an amazingsystem.’
On the other hand, Luis Tavares of Garrett Audiovisuais in Portugal was particularly impressed with the latest remote control software. ‘The great thing with RD-Net is that you can remotely control and monitor the DVA T12 whilst it’s rigged - even during a performance. This is just another of a long list of benefits that will give this great new product a real standing in the market.’
An outdoor live listening test was conducted with two arrays of DVA T12 speakers supplemented by S30 subwoofers, which were compared to some of their internationally relevant competitors. ‘It was always going to be good, with Claudio Ottani behind the R&D,’ commented Per Oystein Berglund of Njal Hansson AS, Norway. ‘The T12 compares incredibly well with brands which cost considerably more. dBTechnologies is playing on the big stage now – literally.’
dB Technologies' Head of R&D, Claudio Ottani was on hand to answer distributors’ questions for the remainder of the afternoon, ensuring all representatives were fully equipped with every possible piece of DVA information.
As in previous years, the hard work of the distributors’ was celebrated with an awards ceremony, with the Indonesian distributor P.T. Bahanna Nada Cemerlang scooping the Asian Pacific distributor of the year award.
