dBTechnologies line array wins Bangkok shoot-out

THAILAND: A dBTechnologies DVA line array system has been installed into a 450-seat multi-purpose auditorium located within the Bangkok-based head office of Muang Thai Life Assurance. The purchase – reportedly the result of a lengthy selection process – was made through local distributor Total Equipments Co Ltd (Thailand).
According to the manufacturer, Muang Thai Life Assurance chose the dBTechnologies enclosures following a shoot-out and rigging demonstration which saw the powered DVA system deployed in just over 30 minutes. Included within the installation are four DVA T4 enclosures plus two DVA S20 subwoofers per side, while the auditorium’s on-stage sound has also been augmented with Opera 410D cabinets. The DVA T4 is one of dBTechnologies’ most successful products having sold 15,000 units worldwide.
Following the installation, system engineer David Styles, who installed the upgrade, was enthusiastic regarding the system, commenting that he ‘only needed to add a small amount of EQ for the room’. The auditorium’s engineer, meanwhile, praised the system’s ‘smooth, even coverage of the room’ as well as the ‘gain before feedback when it comes to using handheld and Lavalier wireless microphones for presentations.’
