dBTechnologies selected for high profile events in the Philippines

PHILIPPINES: dBTechnologies’ DVA T4 line array modules have been utilised for two recent high profile events in the Philippines, following the efforts of the manufacturer’s Quezon City-based distributor Avesco.

Local touring company Contech Sounds with assistance from Audio by Design provided the complete audio system for the religious group Christ the King’s ‘Catch Fire’ anniversary celebration event, whilst Audio by Design also donated a number of DVA T4 speakers for a free benefit concert held to help the victims of Typhoon Sendong.

An estimated 6,000 people attended the 'Catch Fire' event at the Philippine Sports Arena in Pasig City, where a total of 16 DVA T4 modules were flown in a configuration of eight per side. ‘I simply couldn't believe my ears,’ said Mike Conmigo, owner of Contech Sounds. ‘It is a very powerful yet compact speaker that delivers a clear audio signal – amazing indeed!’

Audio by Design donated a total of eight DVA T4s for the benefit concert held at the Quezon City Memorial Circle, which were configured as four ground-stacked units on either side.

The fundraiser was organised by key figures from the local advertising and marketing community known locally as ASAP, with the cooperation of the TGEEP (Technical Group for Events and Entertainment Philippines) and was boosted by the Quezon City government who provided the venue free of charge. Over 1,000 people attended to watch various bands and soloists perform, including Color it Red, Sitti, Lou Bonnevie and Karylle, and proceeds went straight to the Philippine Red Cross and the Emmanuel Pelaez Foundation.

‘The entertainers were amazed by the loud and clear performance,’ said Dennis Paner, Avesco's pro audio manager. ‘One of the sound tech guys who was in charge of the stage monitors said that the vocal quality and timbre was just awesome,’ he added.

‘One of the advantages of the DVA T4 line array system is its flexibility: you can use it as a ground stack as well as flown,’ enthused Martin Capp, far east area sales manager. ‘More and more rental companies in the region are coming to realise that you can rely on dBTechnologies, and since the introduction of the DVA T12 line array module they have excellent scalability and more power at their disposal too,’ he concluded.
