dLive pulls double duty

CHINA: The city of Shijiazhuang recently played host to a pair of festivals that were staged at the same time. As the Shijiazhuang Music Festival was being held in one part of the city, the LeXiang Music Festival was running simultaneously in another. In addition to having a city and date in common, both events also drew upon the same audio mixing solution: Allen & Heath’s dLive system.

As Chinese artists, such as Zheng Jun, HangGai and Tanya Chua took to the stage at the LeXiang Festival, an S7000 Surface and DM64 MixRack formed the dLive setup at FOH. Meanwhile, production company SAG utilised the same combination at the Shijiazhuang Music Festival with the addition of three DX32 expander racks that allowed for the inclusion of remote I/O.

‘The sound quality is excellent,’ commented Wu Tianjun, FOH engineer for the LeXiang Festival. ‘With the separate MixRack and Surface design, audio distribution is more reliable and low latency becomes possible.’
