Dynacord launches PowerMate3 at Plasa

PLASA: Dynacord used the Plasa show in London to launch the third generation of its PowerMate powered mixer. The manufacturer reports that PowerMatehas 40 per cent more power and 30 per cent less weight than previous versions.

The new desk is available in three models which differ primarily in the number of input channels they offer: 1000 with 10 channel strips, 1600 with 16 channel strips and 2200 with 22 channel strips. The PowerMate3 mixing desk has been designed for live performance. It offers Vocal Voicing Filters, six aux busses, microphone preamplifiers, a USB 2.0 audio interface, low cut filters and 11-band graphic equalisers. ‘By integrating the 4IN / 4OUT-USB port, we have fulfilled an oft-expressed wish of our customers; and to encourage users to take full advantage of the benefits of this interface, we are including a free Cubase LE5 licence with each PowerMate3,’ said Dynacord’s senior product manager Martin Traut.

The PowerMate3 also features Class-D power amplifier outputs 2 x 1,000W RMS (into 4Ω), which has enabled the manufacturer to reduce both heat dissipation and energy consumption. Dynacord reports its power management system makes it possible to adjust the output to suit different cabinets (including those with a somewhat lower power-handling capacity) whilst retaining the full dynamic range of the power amplifier.

The effects section comprises two independent, and separately editable, effects processors, 2 x 100 factory presets, 20 user presets, remote control (via Midi), tap delay, USB configuration and an OLED display.

There is also a new protective lid with integrated handle to ensure it can be transported without getting damaged.
