EampE anniversary marked with celebratory gala

SINGAPORE: Nearly 500 people recently gathered at the Shangri La Ballroom in Singapore to celebrate the 60th anniversary of integrator and distributor Electronics & Engineering Pte Ltd (E&E). In attendance were guests from the US and Europe, alongside staff from all five of the company’s offices.

E&E is the best established audiovisual integrator and supplier in Singapore, counting many of the regions most distinguished projects within its catalogue of achievements. Most recently the company completed the A/V installation for the landmark Marina Bay Sands complex, alongside the development’s two high-profile theatres. A special report on the company’s 60th anniversary appeared in the last issue of Pro Audio Asia.

With six decades of history to cover, the evening began with a short film tracking the company’s achievements since 1951 and highlighting notable milestones in its development. Among them was the groundbreaking construction of Singapore’s National Stadium in the early 1970s, which was marked by an appearance from industry pioneer Dr Jacek Figwer, BB&N, who worked with Mr Goh on the project. Awards were also presented while short presentations were made by Alan Chang from Shure, Werner Bachmann, Neutrik and Thursby Pierce of Electrosonic. Also honoured were some of the long-serving members of the E&E team, including one member of staff who has worked for the company for 37 years.

Speaking to the assembled guests, Mr Goh was delighted with the reception. ‘We are one big family and an event of this nature is like a family celebration where we look back on our achievements and thank everyone who has helped us and been a part of our journey,’ he enthused, adding: ‘We are touched at the support from everyone here tonight.’

Meanwhile, co-deputy managing directors Gary Goh and Joe Fong described themselves as excited by the challenge of taking the company forward into its next 60 years. ‘The E&E foundations are solidly set,’ explained Gary Goh. ‘We’ve got our new offices in India and Vietnam up and running, and with our skilled and enthusiastic staff members together with credentials with our clients built up over many years, we are excited by our future prospects.’
