Electro-Voice chosen for RCTI Indonesia

INDONESIA: Equipment from Electro-Voice has been installed at Rajawali Citra Televisi (RCTI) Indonesia, the country’s first private television network. With the broadcaster noticing an increase in the use of professional sound reinforcement systems recently, the decision was made to invest in a permanent solution. E-V distributor, PT Infinite Audio Media, was called upon to equip two medium and two large-sized studios.

‘We selected Electro-Voice believing in its product durability, quality and after-sales service,’ stated a spokesperson on behalf of RCTI. ‘These were the deciding factors for us, including the trust in the systems integrators to provide the best sound system for our studios.’

The two smaller studios were outfitted with mobile systems made up of QRX series models, including the QRX-212 tops and QRX-218 subwoofers. These are driven by DC-one and P3000 amplifiers in a bi-amplified configuration and were chosen for their ‘ease of mobility and sound reproduction quality.’ The larger studios were outfitted with XLD Series line arrays. Both systems are powered by FIR-Drive equipped DX-46 signal processors and TG-5 and TG-7 Tour Grade amplifiers. The 3-way XLD281 enclosures are augmented with XSub subwoofers and additional SxA-250 and ETX-15P enclosures as used for front-fill and as floor monitors.

Following the installation, training is being offered on a quarterly basis to help new users with deploying the portable systems. The training sessions also provide the users with experience in configuring DSP to help gain the most from the line arrays in the larger studios.
