MALAYSIA: An ongoing series of Bosch events geared towards introducing Electro-Voice microphones and Live X loudspeakers into key Asian markets arrived in Kuala Lumpur at the end of September. Helping EV to demonstrate its products at the Sime Darby Convention Centre were artists including Chelsia Ng, Katoon Network, Martin Ngim together with his band The Red Quartet, DJ Irwan and beat-boxer Mr C.
Taking place on September 27th, the event was sponsored and supported by AV Electronics Marketing Sdn Bhd, distributor of selected EV MI series, and Soundline AudioVisual Distribution Sdn Bhd, distributor of EV microphones. It saw Electro-Voice introduce the RE320 and R300 microphones alongside Live X portable enclosures via a series of contrasting performances from regional performers. Among them were solo artist and well known actress Chelsia Ng, who sang her debut single, Not A Lie, live for the first time.
Next were dance troupe Katoon Network, followed by the renowned Sonor-endorsed jazz drummer Martin Ngim and his funk band The Red Quartet. DJ Irwan was next to demonstrate the versatility of the EV mics and loudspeakers, while See Khai Shen, known by his stage name Mr C, closed the event with a display of beat-boxing.
The Kuala Lumpur product introduction day is the latest in a line of specially tailored Bosch events that have taken place throughout Asia in 2011, all intended to showcase the Live X range of enclosures plus EV microphones in the most suitable manner for specific markets.
‘We wanted to showcase these top of the range sound systems in a practical manner,’ explained Randy Tee, general manager, security systems of Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. ‘There’s no better way to exemplify these products than through some of the people who regularly use them.’
