EV launches Be Electro-Voiced contest for new artists

SINGAPORE: Electro-Voice has announced a year-long online contest to support new emerging music in the Asia Pacific, partnering with Pro Audio Asia to bring news of the results to the professional audio industry in the region.

Named Be Electro-Voiced, the contest sees the manufacturer seeking six talented singers or bands to compete to win a host of Electro-Voice prizes.

The competition will be hosted on Electro-Voice’s Facebook page, where a panel of EV judges will critique all six acts. Contestants are required to upload a short video of their performances onto the brand’s Facebook page, and the winners – announced once every two months – will be endorsed by EV, receiving a professional microphone. Entrants also stand a chance of winning the grand prize: an Electro-Voice loudspeaker system.

‘Whether you're a band on tour, a busy DJ, or an artist looking for international exposure, the Electro-Voice brand will ensure your signature sound remains intact, show after show,’ assured Johannes Huth, director of product marketing communications, Bosch Security Systems Asia Pacific. ‘Joining the Be Electro-Voiced contest might make a significant change to the career of the young talents.’

Barney Jameson, editor of Pro Audio Asia, added: ‘We are expecting some really interesting performances coming up from the contest. Pro Audio Asia is honoured to support the young talents of the Asia Pacific as they pursue their dreams in the music industry.’

The contest officially started on July 1st, and will run until June 30th 2013.
