THAILAND: Having secured sole distribution for Thailand with Italian loudspeaker manufacturer FBT Elettronica SpA in 2011, Star Electronic Sales & Service Co Ltd hosted a seminar at the 2012 Palme Thailand trade show on September 20th for the manufacturer’s dealers and main customers.
Over 30 attendees converged at the Impact Convention Centre for the two-hour seminar, in which product manager Remo Orsoni and export manager Roberto Mataloni highlighted the company’s 50-year heritage and its products. ‘Having appointed Star Electronic late last year, we felt it important to firstly exhibit at Palme Thailand this year and secondly to host a joint seminar to explain who we are and what we produce,’ explained Mr Mataloni.
Both companies were incepted in the 1960s, and FBT took the opportunity to highlight its ‘ground breaking’ products such as the Tape Echo Effects unit, radio mixers, active speaker technology and various installation low voltage products. ‘We are now distributed in 96 countries worldwide,’ furthered Mr Mataloni. ‘Thailand is important to us and that is why we decided to come here and participate at the show.’
Following Mr Mataloni’s briefing, Mr Orsoni explained the technology and components that are incorporated in FBT’s speaker systems, including the line array (Modus, Mitus, Vertus and Qube), wooden (Verve) and polypropylene (HiMaxX, ProMaxX, Jolly and Amico) models in addition to the DLM digital processors. ‘It’s crucial to use the very best components in speaker designs,’ Mr Orsoni asserted. ‘In addition, you also need to use the best mixer and cabling.’
A seminar on how to install and use EASE Focus simulation software then followed. ‘To get the best out of our speaker systems, we recommend the application of EASE Focus beforehand to create optimised stable coverage with presets,’ he added.
Meanwhile, senior VP of marketing Saengchai Chavanaittinant assisted Mr Orsoni and Mr Mataloni with English-Thai translations. ‘The seminar was a great success and our dealers better understand the products and technologies that they are now promoting in Thailand,’ he commented.
