First Asian cinema to feature Iosono 3D sound system

SOUTH KOREA: An Iosono 3D sound system has been installed into CJ CGV’s 4DX theatre in Seoul, which is reportedly the first cinema in Asia to incorporate the system.
‘4DX is the most immersive movie experience, adding a lot of value to the cinema visit. Sound is a vital part of the concept and Iosono is making movies sound so much more lively’, explained Kim Chu Young, CEO of CJ CGV.
The Iosono sound system at 4DX features a ring of 60 loudspeakers, whilst 18 additional ceiling speakers have been positioned throughout the theatre to create a three-dimensional sound experience.
‘We are very happy to work with such an established player on the Korean market,’ said Olaf Stepputat, CEO of Iosono. ‘Iosono is a perfect solution for cinemas and CJ CGV’s 4DX concept has got great potential,’ he enthused.
